Many congratulations to the three finalists for the Cooling Prize Competition who have been confirmed as;
Aidan Hopkins: Monitoring of surface and sub-surface ground movements during TBM passage and SCL tunnelling with compensation grouting at Tottenham Court Road Crossrail Station
Helen Dunne: Finite element limit analysis of rectangular mudmats subject to combined loading
Paul Sargent: Suitability of a geopolymer for stabilising an alluvium under high-speed train loading
The finalists have been chosen by a sub-committee of the BGA from the nine entries received. All entries were of a high standard and reflect the excellent work being carried out in academia and industry by the young geotechnical engineering community.
The three finalists will present at the final to be held in Cardiff on the 10th March at the Wales Millennium Centre.
