The BGA presented awards at its Annual General Meeting during its Annual Conference on 22 June 2022.
Beatrice Baudet (on behalf of the authors Ting Yao, Beatrice Baudet, Sergio Lourenço) received the 2021 BGA Medal from BGA Chair Professor David Toll. The winning paper is T.Yao, B.Baudet, S.Lourenço (2022) Evolution of surface roughness of single sand grains with normal loading published in Géotechnique. Further details here.
Stan Jun Qi of Atkins received the 53rd Cooling Prize (for his presentation based on his MSc work at Imperial College London on Numerical Evaluation of Empirical Estimates of Seepage through Contiguous Piled Walls) from BGA Chair Professor David Toll. Further details here.
Ana Pirone of Imperial College London received the 2021 BGA Masters Prize from BGA Chair Professor David Toll for her entry “Geotechnical data integration in the calibration of constitutive models using machine learning and metaheuristics”. Further details here.
