The British Geotechnical Association (BGA) is pleased to announce a scheme whereby a limited number of free student places will be made available for the Rankine Dinner after the Rankine Lecture. BGA Chair Dr Andrew Ridley said ‘The BGA is proud to continue this scheme as a way of allowing more students to attend the lecture and dinner, to help build better links with industry’.
The call for applications is now open for the ballot for free student places at the 62nd Rankine Lecture and Dinner on 13 March 2024 to be delivered by Professor Lidija Zdravkovic of Imperial College London, on Geotechnical Engineering for a Sustainable Society.
It is expected that the number of applications will exceed the number of places available, so final places will be allocated at random by ballot from the applications. A number of seats are available, with each winner being allocated to a different host geotechnical company. This is a highly prestigious event with many of the past Rankine lecturers attending. You are encouraged to register—it is an event not to be missed!
