Ground Engineering’s July 2020 issue is available online
The BGA is pleased to invite entries for the Fleming Competition. This is held annually to commemorate the life and work of Dr Ken Fleming and to recognise excellence in the practical application of geotechnics in a project or a part of a project.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic the British Geotechnical Association Annual Conference 2020 cannot be held as a physical event. Instead it will be held as three online sessions on 7th, 14th and 21 July 2020
To support the wider academic and professional field the British Geotechnical Association (BGA) would like to draw attention to an available PhD position in the geotechnical field.

The BGA is pleased to announce that Geng Jie (Jay) Liang of Imperial College London is the winner of the 2019 MSc/MEng prize for his dissertation “Characterizing the Variability of London Clay: A Study of Tunnel Face Logs from the Jubilee Line Extension between Green Park and Waterloo”.
The 2019 BGA Medal is awarded to the paper “Pore water pressure and total horizontal stress response to EPBM tunnelling in London Clay” by Michael Wan, Jamie Standing, David Potts and John Burland
