The BGA held its September meeting last night with an excellent overview of six landslips that occurred on Network Rail infrastructure between June 2012 and February 2013 by the Rail Accident Investigation Branch's (RAIB) Chris Ford. Followed by a summary of Network Rail's actions in response to the report by Simon Abbot.

The Fleming Award is a prestigious prize awarded annually by the BGA to commemorate the life and work of Dr Ken Fleming and to recognise excellence in the practical application of geotechnics in a project or a part of a project, with a prize donated by Cementation Skanska. The 2016 Fleming Award Meeting will be held at the ICE, One Great George Street, London on 7 December 2016.
